Become a PTA Member!
It's a new year, and what a better way to get connected to what's happening here at Longbranch than by becoming a member of our PTA! Being a member doesn't sign you up for events in any way. It simply gives you a voice! Be a part of the decision making for your children's school sign up today! Other perks to being a member of the PTA are our FREE Members Only events. This school year we have hosted a Fall Movie Night, and Pictures with Santa Event. We will have one more FREE Members Only event this Spring, so don't miss out!! Membership to the PTA is $5, this is a once a year fee you will pay to be a member of Longbranch PTA.
Contact Adrienne Jamison for more information on becoming a new you for our PTA!! Click here to download and print a membership form.

Congratulations to Mrs Michel's class for winning the Membership Traveling Trophy for the 2012-2013 Membership Drive!

PTA FAQ
How will becoming a member of the PTA benefit my children?
Decades of research show that parental involvement... Produces higher grades and test scores. Better school attendance. Increased motivation and self esteem. Decreased use of drugs and alcohol. Fewer instances of violent behavior. Overall increased graduation rates.
What is the difference between a PTA Member, PTA Board Member and a Chairperson?
PTA members are adults who have paid their membership dues for the school year. Members elect officers who form the PTA Board. These board members include a President, 1st Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Volunteer Coordinator, and Vice Presidents of Membership, Programs, Ways and Means and Communication.
The PTA Board works with the PTA Members to decide what educational programs are needed at school to enrich the academic experience of the students. A Chairperson is a PTA Member who volunteers to head up one of the educational programs and events at school.
What is the PTA network?
As a member of LBES PTA you are part of the 14th District PTA (serving 8 counties in Northern Kentucky), the Kentucky PTA (special login information for their website is on the back of your membership card), and the National PTA.

I am interested in serving on the board next year, now what?
Officer elections are held every year at the April General Meeting. We encourage anyone interested in running for a position to come to a PTA meeting and see what we do. Ask questions and offer to shadow the current officer to find out if the day to day duties will work well with your schedule. Contact the PTA President, Becky Quigley, for more information about specific Board positions.
If you would like to chair a committee or event this year or next, please contact the PTA President, Becky Quigley, to volunteer or find out more information.
